Robben Island Tours

A Bit about Robben Island Tours

Robben Island served as a place of banishment, isolation and imprisonment in the past and is now a World Heritage Site and museum. A poignant reminder to the newly democratic South Africa of the price paid for freedom. Made famous for housing nobel peace prize winner Nelson Mandela, it offers a glimpse at what life was like for the freedom fighters of yester year.

Ferries depart at 9am, 11am, 1pm and 3pm, weather permitting, from Nelson Mandela Gateway, at the V&A Waterfront in Cape Town. Tickets cost R200 for adults and R100 for children.
