Cultivaria Paarl

A Bit about Cultivaria Paarl
The festival gets off to a glamorous start with the Bovril Black Tie Dinner, which
transforms Paarl’s Main Street into an open-air dining room with a seating
capacity of approximately 1000 guests and has set the record for the longest
table in the world. Cultivaria sports the highest occupancy figures of all South African arts and
music festivals and attained an average occupancy of 81.5 % percent in
2008. Cultivaria has become one of the highlights on the annual Paarl events
calendar and makes a significant contribution in terms of job creation and
skills development in the region. Cultivaria is a showcase for Paarl as a tourism destination and also proves the
Drakenstein’s ability to host events of world-class nature. The Drakenstein Municipality is the only local municipality in the country to
support an event of this nature and has been a committed sponsor for the
past four years. The municipality provided support in key areas such as traffic
control, law enforcement, refuse removal as well as basic amenities like water
and electricity. Cultivaria has set a benchmark for similar festivals throughout the country by
being the first festival to have its own on-line reservation website and
dedicated call-centre. Cultivaria can also boast with an unblemished security record with no criminal
incidences being reported in the history of the festival.
